Our Mission
Celtic Circle Dance Company is an Irish based Folk Dance School, dedicated to honouring our Celtic Ancestral traditions with modern Irish Dance technique.
Our dancing is tailored to emphasise the more folk and pagan beauty of the Celts, typified by slower, more flowing movements of the upper body, use of costuming and integrating choreographic styles which showcase the beauty of Irish dancing through the lens of the Goddess.
In particular our patron Goddess Brigid.
We could be described as neo-pagan.
We dance for fun, displays, festivals, and private functions.
About the Teacher
Our teacher Karen Clark, has spent over 25 years learning and teaching traditional Irish Dance within a number of local and international schools.
Karen first learnt and competed as a young adult in Irish Dance Competitions (and did quite well) with the Howe School of Irish Dance in her early 20's.
Karen spent a lot of time traveling and working overseas for over 10 years, where she was able to train with world class teachers in London, UK, and St John's Newfoundland, Canada.
Karen was the Irish dance teacher with Cape Byron Celtic Dance for 6 years before Marriage and children put her dance career on hold in 2012.
Celtic Circle Dance was a brain child which could not be suppressed, and has since evolved and brought many people a lot of joy since its birth in 2014.
